August 4, 2023
The Kadiwa sa Kapitolyo Program is one of the priority programs of the Provincial Government of Camiguin that facilitates the direct marketing scheme between local producers and consumers. Local producers are given an outlet to directly sell their agricultural and fishery products while consumers are given access to affordable, nutritious, fresh, and safe produce and by-products.
The Kadiwa sa Kapitolyo was successfully launched on August 4, 2023, at the Provincial Capitol Lobby with a total sales amounting to P73,783.00. Ten (10) local farmers participated and displayed a wide variety of agricultural products such as assorted vegetables, fruits, seedlings, meat products, and dressed chicken. Moreover, four (4) local processors also displayed
their by-products such as Tablea, Coconut Vinegar, Coconut Sap, Coconut Drops, Lanzones Chili Oil, Lanzones Candy, Cassava Chips, and Banana Chips.
Consumers from different walks of life enjoyed the shopping experience through the Kadiwa activity. “Barato kayo ang mga baligya, nakapalit ko og karots na tag P80 ra sa Kadiwa unya tag P180 sa merkado og daghan pa na klase sa utan na presko ako napalit,” said a consumer, Ms. Annie Bongosia.
The Provincial Government of Camiguin encourages all local farmers and local processors to display their products and is open to all consumers to avail affordable agricultural products. This program will be regularly conducted every Friday, (1:00-5:00 p.m.) at the Provincial Capitol Lobby.
