Building Resilient Infrastructure
The pandemic and Category 5 typhoons have defined recent disasters in our county and now more than ever we shall vigorously build resilient infrastructure. Our approach towards this has been unhampered and, as earlier shared, has become a major strategy for the COVID-19 response. We shall continue with the following strategic projects:
- Concreting/Pavement/Opening of roads
- Expansion of airport runway
- Upgrading of sports facilities
To create a more competitive and enabling environment, the Provincial Government of Camiguin has implemented various infrastructure projects that will uplift the living condition of the Camiguinons. One of the priority projects of the Provincial Government of Camiguin for infrastructure is the Construction of the New Capitol Building which was started on March 28, 2019 and was completed on August 12, 2022. PGC Officials and employees finally transferred to the New Capitol Building on December 1, 2022.
As of July 2023, the Provincial Government of Camiguin has completed the following infrastructure projects:
- Construction of new and upgrade dairy barn, milking parlor building
- Construction/completion of New Camiguin General Hospital Building
- Tourism Development of Soda Swimming Pool Phase 3
- Tourism Development of Tuasan Falls Phase 3
- Renovation/upgrading of AI Laboratory Building
For the Concreting/Pavement/Opening of roads:
- 10 concreting of road projects have completed
- 14 construction/opening of roads have completed
- 4 rehabilitation/improvement or road projects
- 3 on-going road projects
- 3 on-going infrastructure projects
