Kiddie Escapade: Acquiring life skills through recreation and sports

The annual Gov. XJ’s Kiddie Escapade Program aims to provide children aged 7-14 with an opportunity to develop discipline, make new friends, and have fun during their school break. It is a month-long free training program that is open to fully vaccinated children that are interested to learn a diverse range of sports and activities, including basketball, badminton, chess, dance sport, guitar lessons, gymnastics, painting, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, as well as volleyball.

The opening program of Gov. XJ’s Kiddies Escapade was held on July 19, 2023, at Camiguin Convention Center and was attended by over 550 enrollees. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office organized the event, which was graced by the presence of Congressman Jurdin Jesus D. Romualdo, Governor Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, and Mayor Yñigo Jesus D. Romualdo. Previous graduates of the Kiddies Escapade, specifically in Taekwondo, Gymnastics, and Dancesports, showcased their skills during the event. 

The Culmination Program will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Cong. PPR. Sports and Tourism Complex and will be highlighted by an exhibition of skills and talents as well as a field demonstration by the participants, representing the numerous sports events. The Provincial Government of Camiguin is committed to continuing its grassroots sports program and other initiatives aimed at empowering the youth and securing a better future for the new generation.
