Response to Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases (COVID-19)

Since the start of the pandemic, we have managed to keep cases as one of the lowest in the country. The Provincial Government will continue to prepare for any major outbreak that might hit the province by improving Camiguin’s health care system.

As of July 2023, vaccination rates are at 111.7% for the fully vaccinated individuals. First and second booster coverage are at 70% and 8% respectively. The launching of the third booster dose was held last July 1, 2023 at the Camiguin General Hospital with the health care workers and senior citizens as the primary recipients.
The Provincial Government will continue to prepare for any major outbreak that might hit the province by improving Camiguin’s health care system. Daily surveillance for Covid-19 cases still take place as well as rapid antigen testing for suspected cases. Personal protective equipment are also readily available in case of reemergence.
