PROVINCIAL ENGINEERING OFFICE

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF OFFICE:

An office focusing on the four thematic areas of DRRM; such as Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Response and Disaster Rehabilitation in achieving the objective of reducing risk as well as addressing the pre-existing risks in the province to promote a safer, adaptive and disaster resilient Filipino communities. 

Provincial Engineering Office Description

The Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) is responsible for overseeing surveying and engineering projects within the province. The office also provides services related to public improvements and other works undertaken or planned by the province. The PEO plays a crucial role in the procurement of heavy equipment rentals and the development of programs and work plans. PEO’s expertise ensures the efficient execution of projects and the successful implementation of infrastructure developments for the benefit of the province and its constituents.

1.PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM - CONDUCT TRAININGS ON BASIC LIFE SUPPORT, STANDARD FIRST AID AND WATER SEARCH AND RESCUE

These trainings are a vital life skill that provides the responders with the basic knowledge, attitude and skills in dealing with medical emergencies.

BUILDING RESILLIENT INFRASTRUCTURE

Completion of the New Camiguin Provincial Capitol Building

The construction of the New Camiguin Provincial Capitol Building shows the province’s commitment to progress and effective governance. The main goal was to create a modern and efficient facility that would serve as the main center for governance in the Province of Camiguin. By improving administrative capabilities and providing a modern working environment for officials and staff, the project highlights the province’s dedication to creating a better space for administration. This completion, on August 12, 2022, is a major achievement in Camiguin’s efforts to enhance governance and provide a functional working environment for officials and the entire community.

2. IMPLEMENTATION OF COVID-19 PROTOCOLS​

Continuous monitoring and verification process of documents are still present upon entry/exit in each port of entry in the province.

Completion of the New Camiguin General Hospital Building (1st to 3rd Floor of Northwing and 1st to 2nd Floor South Wing

In its pursuit to adhere to the policy of the Provincial Government of Camiguin to strictly adhere to the principles of merit, competence, fitness, and equality, and to the Civil Service Commission’s application of equal employment opportunity, the province, under the close supervision and management of its Human Resource Management Office, Personnel Unit, and the Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board formulated the Recruitment, Selection, and Placement procedure and guidelines.

3. PROCUREMENT OF AMBULANCE AND RESCUE EQUIPMENT

On-going upgrading of Catarman District Hospital Phase I

The ongoing project focuses on upgrading the infrastructure of the Catarman District Hospital located in Poblacion, Catarman. The project is being carried out in multiple phases, and Phase I is currently in progress with the aim of improving the hospital’s facilities. The main goal of this phase is to enhance the hospital’s facilities, with a focus on improving healthcare services for the municipalities of Catarman, Sagay, and Guinsiliban. The completion of Phase I is targeted on August 6, 2023.
