PROVINCIAL PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT OFFICE
SHORT DESCRIPTION (FUNCTIONS, MANDATES)
The Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) serves as the technical arm of the Provincial Government of Camiguin. It provides overall supervision and coordination for planning and development activities of the organization.
As stipulated in the Local Government Code, the PPDO shall:
- Formulate integrated economic, social, physical and other development plans and policies for consideration of the PDC;
- Conduct continuing studies, researches and training programs necessary to evolve plans and programs for implementation and studies undertaken by the different functional groups and agencies;
- Integrate and coordinate all sector plans;
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the different development programs, projects, activities in accordance with the approved development plans;
- Prepare comprehensive plans and other development planning documents for the consideration of the PDC;
- Analyze the income and expenditure patterns, formulate and recommend fiscal plans and policies for consideration of the finance committee;
- Promote people’s participation in development planning; and
- Exercise such other powers and perform such other functions and duties as may be prescribed by law or ordinance.

- Provide secretariat support to Provincial Development Council and other Local Special Bodies
- Supervises the operation and maintenance of Camiguin Sanitary Landfill

Comprehensive and Multisectoral Planning
The Comprehensive and Multisectoral Planning involves preparation, updating or revision of DRR-CCA Enhanced Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan, Provincial Development Investment Program, Annual Investment Plan, Provincial Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan, Local Shelter Plan, Local Public Transport Route Plan, Provincial Solid Waste Management Plan and other development plans.

Secretariat Services to various Local Special Bodies
This involves preparation of resolutions, keeping minutes and records, setting agenda and other related matters pertaining to the activities of various Local Special Bodies such as the Provincial Development Council and Provincial Solid Waste Management Board.
Quality Assurance
Providing quality assurance services requires that the plans, programs and projects of the provincial government are compliant with national standards, issuances, and guidelines.
